A project review is a review of the progress of a specific project at a specific point in time. The focus of a project review is to assess the chances of success in the future with the project and answers the question of whether the project is “on-track” towards its goals with the eyes of an independent party. A project review also includes improvement suggestions that should be implemented to ensure the success and/or efficiency of the project. There are different types of project reviews that are usually divided into 5 categories: internal project evaluation, gate review, external audit, post-implementation review and benefits realization review.
